modern woman. traditional lady. work in progress.

In 2009, I pictured myself graduating in May 2011 to set off on my own for a life full of  city-living, man-hunting, Ramen-eating, workaholic shenanigans.

As it happened, I graduated in 2010  to set off with my boyfriend-turned-husband for a life full of home-cooked dinners and farm living.

And I thought that I was done there.  So my blog from 2009 – 2016 was all about that domestication: settling down and living a simple life.

But then in 2016, a year widely labeled as the worst year ever, I found myself divorced and alone again.  My 2009 prediction was coming true.

So, as I write this in 2017, I am preparing to move across the country and start a new job.  I am single again for the first time since I was in my early 20s and I am experiencing a different kind of domestication … the kind where you discover who you are as a woman, and if you ever truly can be tamed.

Thanks for following along.
